Harmon School was built by educators who believe that intelligence is not defined by speed, compliance, or test performance—but by curiosity, perseverance, and growth. As parents and educators, we created the school we wished existed for our own children and students.

Mark Boehme

Hello, I am Mark Boehme

Founder & Head of Program

Educator • Researcher • Executive Functioning Coach

Hi, I’m Mark—husband, father of two, and lifelong educator with a love of STEM, sociology, and helping students unlock their potential.

I was diagnosed with dyslexia in the first grade, back in 1988, when qualified evaluations were rare. My journey led me through personal challenges, a life-changing experience at Landmark College—a school for students with learning differences—where I learned critical executive functioning skills, and eventually to earning a 4.0 master’s degree in Sociology after completing a bachelor’s degree in Math and Physics.

For over a decade, I’ve taught in public schools and universities across all grade levels, from elementary through college. Along the way, I developed a deep passion for executive functioning coaching, helping students build the skills they need to stay organized, manage time, and follow through on tasks.

Today, I combine that personal experience with research-based strategies to support students and families through Harmon School. Whether it’s reading support, academic planning, or helping a student finally “get unstuck,” I’m here to help.

Co-Founder & Director of Special Education

Special Education • Dyslexia Specialist • Academic Support

I’m Katie—wife, mother of two, and a Special Education teacher who has dedicated my career to supporting students who need structured, compassionate, and effective instruction.

I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas State University and hold certifications as a PreK–8 Generalist, All-Level ESL, and All-Level Special Education teacher. My experience spans public and private schools, where I’ve provided general education instruction, classroom inclusion support, and small-group resource instruction for students with diverse learning needs.

Special education and dyslexia intervention became my calling, leading me to earn my CALP certification through the Rawson Saunders Institute. For the past six years, I’ve provided Dyslexia Therapy as a Certified Academic Language Practitioner using the Neuhaus Basic Language Skills (BLS) and Reading Readiness curricula, working with students individually and in small groups, both online and in-person.

I also have extensive experience writing IEPs, leading ARD meetings, and advocating for students and families. I look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s growth and success.
