My Journey

Hi there! I am a wife and mother of two who has dedicated most of my professional life to helping students who need it most.

Since my first job in High School as a Club Volleyball Coach for young girls and working during college as an AVID tutor in my community schools, I knew my purpose in life was to be an educator.  I obtained my degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas State University in San Marcos, and added certifications as a PreK - 8th grade Generalist, All-Level ESL, and All-Level Special Education to my toolbox.

Experience teaching in the classroom as well as dedicating my time to special education has made me uniquely qualified to adapt to new teaching situations that have come my way-especially my work in the realm of providing inclusion support to students in the classroom and small-group resource instruction to those who need it.

Working in public and private schools with special needs students truly became my calling, and I decided to further specialize in the area of Dyslexia Therapy by obtaining my CALP certification through the Rawson Saunders Institute.  I have been providing  Dyslexia Therapy as a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) using the Basic Language (BLS) Skills and Reading Readiness curriculums from Neuhaus for the last 5 years, working with students individually and in small group teaching scenarios

With my experience in Special Education writing and preparing IEPs and running my own ARD meetings, I can bring an understanding of the law to help advocate for what your child needs.  It's truly been a joy in my life to help students and their families, and I'm looking forward to being a part of your educational journey!
